CLUB NEWS 2020/1

From Saturday 9th until Wednesday 13th Oct 21, lots of  members from all the Club Sections took part in stableford competitions to raise money for the charity below.

<A big thank you to all the bakers, half-way house volunteers, Hotel, Pro Shop and Greens staff for helping to make this year’s event so successful. Donations to this worthwhile Charity were very generous

You will be pleased to know that the amounts raised for 2021 were as follows:

Ladies and Visitors    £308.91

Men                            £283.53

Seniors                        £253.32


The Grand Total was £845.76

The photos below were taken on the last day of play before the second lockdown began on Thursday 5th November. It was a beautiful sunny day and those members who were lucky enough to have booked a tee time enjoyed a perfect day.

As we played the second hole we were treated to an aerial display: a tribute to Sean Connery  with the vapour trail of 007  ( photos are in the gallery below)

Hi All, hope you are well.

The Hole in One pool has been won by two of our members.

Paul Brading on the 8th hole on the 11/08/20 and now Lyne King on the 8th hole yesterday (Saturday 5/09/20)

Congratulations to you both.

The pool now needs replenishing, attached are the details and rules if you would like to join the Hole in One pool. (Cost £3)

The Remembrance Book to record the details of members remembered in our

Friends on the Hill garden has now been completed for 2018 and 2019.

It will be stored in the Golf Club Office for members to view on request.

Danny Heard 


A news article about a professional golfer, Danny Heard who played his first round of 18 holes in 1987 at our club, aged 7, and has kept the card ever since. He is now a golf professional based in Cyprus.
