Our Club Championships took place over the weekend of 8th and 9th June, in very poor weather on Saturday which resulted in the players playing later (Ladies Championship) having to abandon play due to flooded greens. This has been rescheduled for the end of July. The Men’s Championship continued and at the end of Sunday, after 4 play-off holes against Stuart Moore as they tied on 166, Martin Churchley became the 2019 Men’s Champion. Congratulations to him and all other winners.

Our Club President Rosemary Hay organised a family and friends Golf event. It was divided into 2 parts, a 9 hole Texas Scramble and an individual putting competition. We all enjoyed the day very much despite a chily wind blowing. The day was rounded off with a very nice afternoon tea. A selection of photographs of prize winners and the playing teams are shown below and also in the Galley.

Congratulations to Grace Eastment, who once again is the Ladies Club Champion with gross scores of 80 and 81. Runner -up was Ann Martin. Winner of the nett prize ( Rowlinson Trophy) was Sui Wong with nett scores of 76 each day.
Well done to all who took part over the two days on a course set up at its best. Thank you Matt and his team. Thank you also to President Rosemary who took lots of photos.(see below) and organised the choccy bars etc, which were much appreciated Disappointingly several players did not play on the Sunday which makes it a little difficult for the organisers and can be unfair on playing partners.
...and finally I look forward to welcoming you to
Captain’s Day on Sunday 22 July,
the sign up sheet is on the notice board now.
best wishes, Men's Captain, Chas Guest

Approximately 100 members and their guests enjoyed an excellent dinner dance hosted by our 3 2017 Captains. The 3 course meal was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient, the band QED ( which had Colin Start the Men's Captain on bass guitar ) was so good everyone enjoyed dancing and most importantly there was lots of chat and laughter.
It was a great way to end the 2017 year and look forward to the 2018 season.
Many thanks to our Captains, Colin, Roy and Lynne.
Below is a small selection of the photos taken, apologies that the quality of these is not up to the standard of the rest of the evening.... not sure if that's because the photograher had had 1 glass of wine too many or because the camera battey went flat!
